Program Overview
During this lecture, Dr. Bartley will share how the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) moved to integrate Sport Psychology and Mental Health Services into Psychological Services to provide services across the psychological spectrum for Team USA. Grounded in empirically based research, USOPC Psychological Services has developed robust crisis services for mental health emergencies, tailored individual and group therapy services that span theoretical orientations, and innovative performance psychology consultations – at the training centers, on the road, and online. Our providers have also pioneered education and training in mental performance and mental health as well as innovated in research. Dr. Bartley’s lecture will conclude with how USOPC Psychological Services prepared for and managed mental performance and mental health at the Paris Olympic & Paralympic Games and how we support Team USA athletes into the Post-Olympic Blues.
